From the Depths of Prison Comes the Hope of Poetry

Prison poems of struggle, survival and love: Emerging from the Dungeon of Despair: Poems and Reflections by E.W. Ford

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 4, 2006 -- A stunning array of poems penned from the depths of one man’s prison experience point the way to grace, recovery and salvation.

A heart-wrenching and healing collection of poems from an illuminating new voice in poetry. Tough, tender, and ultimately moving, these poems prove that while a man may be incarcerated in prison, his soul and spirit can always soar. Full of rhythm and soaked in emotion, these poems reflect the enigma of how love and sensitivity can surface even from “the dungeons of despair.”

While in lock-down or in the prison yard, E.W. wrote poems to ease his mind, and to help other prisoners, many who could not read or write, but still wanted to feel connection with another human being. From politics to prison, from the ache for family, love and commitment, E.W. writes about a world that seems just out of grasp. His brilliant look at prison life is a plea to those who might be on the cusp of ruining their lives and ending up in prison.

But his poems also are a monument to the human spirit that can not only survive the tragedy of prison, but come out on top. Gorgeously written and deeply felt, these are poems from a man who has taken his bed of thorns and dared to plant roses.
