In The Dream is in You, author Vivian Coofer-Darden uses poetry and personal anecdotes to help readers explore the talents that the Creator has given all of us.
Author Vivian Coofer-Darden explores her beliefs and her life, challenging readers to do the same, in her inspirational book of poems, The Dream is in You. From her life as a little girl growing up in Tennessee to her role as a divorced mother of two, Coofer-Darden’s experiences can guide readers to the answers they need to live fuller, richer lives.
Coofer-Darden urges readers to use the gifts God has given them. Her fresh perspective on life in America can be seen in poem after poem. In the poem, “Pain,” she writes how pain can be an opportunity for change. In “A Purpose,” she examines her belief that each and every one of us has a reason to be on Earth. And in “Martin!” she looks back on the legacy of Martin Luther King and how we must keep his dream alive. Inspired by God, Coofer-Darden’s gorgeously crafted book of poems chronicles what it means to be an African-American and what it means to be human. “The dream is in you,” Coofer-Darden urges, and these fresh, vivid poems are meant to be our awakening to that dream.
