Rosali Cleaners Becomes First Cleaner in Los Angeles to Offer New Environmentally Safe Carbon Dioxide Cleaning Process

Rosali Cleaners recently became the first dry cleaning establishment in California to implement a new environmentally safe liquid carbon dioxide cleaning process. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, the new CO2 based cleaning process delivers better results with regard to effective cleaning and overall garment care than standard dry cleaning methods. In addition, the new process addresses environmental concerns linked to toxic chemicals and solvents used in the dry cleaning industry.

Due to the significance of the environmental issues in this area, Rosali Cleaners was recognized and honored by the Southern California Air Quality Management District, The Los Angeles Mayor's Office and the North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at the facility’s official “Grand Opening” on December 16, 2004.

Co-owners Eartha Brathwaite and Lana Pena were congratulated by representatives of the SCAQMD and local community leaders for launching the first environmentally safe carbon dioxide based dry cleaning process in the Los Angeles area, as well as the state of California.    

According to Eartha Brathwaite, “We are very excited about our new service. We believe that the benefits offered by the new equipment extend far beyond long term environmental gains. Even if it wasn’t for this area of improvement, we would have been thrilled to incorporate the new equipment because it sincerely delivers a superior cleaning process without fading, shrinking, or damaging garments in any way, especially when it comes to natural fibers. The carbon dioxide based process is also ideal for leather and suede materials.

The new process uses carbon dioxide which is liquefied under pressure. Although the initial investment in the specialized state-of-the-art equipment was substantial, the owners of Rosali Cleaners are encouraged by the results that have witnessed with regard to customer satisfaction.

“Our customers have commented on the overall ‘brightness’ of their garments as a result of the new equipment. What’s more, the new process is more cost effective, and we are able to pass the savings along to our customers. Our rates are lower than most other dry cleaners, and the CO2 process helps to extend the life of garments, which ultimately saves our customers more money in the long run, too,” added Penn.
