Two Dogs Use Their Small eBay Business To Springboard a Successful Online Pet Shopping Business

Laveen, AZ- June 1, 2006 – Betsy and Norman are two dogs who are taking the dog toy industry by storm. With the help of their mom, Candy, they have used their small eBay business selling dog toys to springboard a successful online pet shopping business. Betsy, a Border Collie mix, and Norman, a Dalmatian mix, run a tight ship and ensure all toys meet their rigorous standards.
Candy was running an eBay business selling antiques when she adopted Betsy on November 3, 2002. Being part Border Collie, finding toys to challenge Betsy both physically and mentally was difficult. Most pet stores carried the same dog toys which bored Betsy. This is when Candy realized the potential for operating a business featuring innovative toys to challenging even the most intellectual and active dogs. In April of 2003, Norman joined the family and the business. While on a walk on that fateful day in April Betsy and Candy encountered Norman wandering the streets and welcomed him into their home. The family wasn’t yet complete. Next came a cat named Maude and an eleven year old Cocker Spaniel named Tasha.
With a growing pet family, it only seemed natural to also expand the family business into a thriving online business. Overwhelming customer response such as declarations proclaiming the business to be, “The best dog store in the whole wide world!” prompted the dogs to expand their business. After experimentation with different types of shopping cart software, a website redesign and new additions to their inventory, Betsy and Norman are ready to take over the dog toy industry.
