Home Energy Audit Assistance Program for Utility Companies Unveiled

Sierra Energy Products has developed a program to assist electrical utility companies in educating their customers and helping them to increase the accuracy and participation of home energy audits. With energy costs on the rise, utility companies and consumers are increasing their activities around saving energy. This new "E2C" program launched by Sierra Energy will help both parties attain their goals by bridging the gap between the utility company and consumer.

Martinez, CA (PRWEB) June 7, 2006 -- Sierra Energy Products has announced the roll out of its Educated Energy Consumer or E2C program for public electrical energy companies. Greg Endom, managing partner, explained that most utility companies today educate their customer base by using questionnaires and estimates to help their energy consumers estimate the major users of electrical energy in their home.

These systems, while an improvement over prior methods, do not garner the consumer’s buy-in and are not always accurate. With the E2C program, utility companies can offer their customers a substantial discount on the Watt-Minder, a household appliance cost meter. The consumer then can save money in the purchase and using the Watt-Minder, can substantially increase their energy knowledge and savings. The Home Energy Audit is supercharged to reflect each consumer’s specific usage patterns based upon actual costs and usage estimate.

Endom explained that Sierra Energy recognized the fundamental differences in utility companies versus product retailers. A Utility company’s corporate structure and goals are not designed to act as a distributor of energy related products yet one of their goals is to educate and reduce energy usage by the customer base. The E2C program was developed to fit this profile by providing the utility company a program with no administrative or product inventory activities. By use of a proprietary sales code process the utility can offer their energy customers a substantial purchase discount on the Watt-Minder cost Meter.

The Watt-Minder, developed by Mashita Electronics, is not a high-tech product, but rather an intelligently designed watt-meter suitable for household and business use. Battery operated; the Watt-Minder provides the consumer the option of measuring the actual energy usage of their own appliances, based upon their own energy costs. The Watt-Minder can be set for each utility providers cost of electricity.

In unveiling this new program, Endom states, “Considering the vast impact of seemingly small adjustments by the millions of electrical power consumers, knowledge from a simple product like the "Watt-Minder™" can have a significant, positive effect on the conservation of limited resources, and noticeable reduction in negative environmental impact of power generation.”

More information can be obtained by contacting the local electrical energy provider or contacting Sierra Energy Products directly.
