The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin.

It's official. "The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin' weighs in as one of the top selling children's books on the Internet.

San Francisco Author John Burns, the creator of Radiomystery.com, has really done it this time. He's created an icon with his children's book character, in his runaway internet best seller, "The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin."

Sales have been very brisk, so it only makes sense that traditional book stores have begun to stock their shelves before the holiday buying season begins.

"This is a book that's here to stay," says Burns. And he should know, he's got two more episodes to release in order to complete Pengey's trilogy.

Mr. Burns also reports that he has just optioned the film and television rights to Pengey's Many Adventures to Romano/Shane Productiions -- Hollywod's executive production team of such movies as, "Catch Me If You Can" and "I-Robot."

"It's been a good time for penguins lately. It seems that everyone's gone bonkers over them. And it's been especially exciting for me and a little baby penguin named "Pengey."

The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin is a delightful children’s book about a baby emperor penguin born in Antarctica. When his mother and father must leave in search of food, Pengey is forced to rely on his courage, intelligence, and the lessons his parents taught him in order to survive.

Pengey’s adventures begin when a fierce winter storm leaves him stranded all alone on a small chunk of ice adrift at sea. Being just a baby penguin, barely 10 inches tall, Pengey doesn’t know what to do. But when he is lonely, or hungry, or angry, or just plain stuck, Pengey always calms down and "ponders his options." This is a very useful strategy for staying warm, finding food, and avoiding hungry albatrosses and giant leopard seals.

Hungry and tired, Pengey stumbles upon a shack where a film crew is wrapping up their work. Pengey is always inquisitive, polite, and a fast learner, so when he meets Wendy, he impresses her with his good manners and quick ability to learn human words. The two are instant friends, but the next day Wendy leaves on an airplane to fly back to New York. This is the beginning of Pengey’s real adventure: to find his new best friend, Wendy. Along the way, Pengey makes more friends, but it is Rufus the Puffin and Lionel the Parrot who help him travel to Manhattan to find Wendy. Pengey and his friends must overcome many obstacles on their quest. Young children, especially, will identify with the diminutive penguin’s plight and can learn from Pengey’s approach to figuring out how the world of adult humans works.

The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin is a colorful story with great lessons for children about thinking creatively, discovering what they are capable of, and staying calm in the face of adversity. The book is full of little cliffhangers, making it perfect for reading over several nights at bedtime. Children aged 10 and older will be able to read the book themselves, but children of all ages will enjoy this plucky little penguin and his many adventures.

Dubbed as "A bedtime story for the soul," Pengey's many adventures is available on the internet at Pengey.com, Abebooks.com and Amazon.com and now at selected fine book stores across the USA.
