Tiffany & Co., Bal Harbour Shops will host the highly anticipated Mystery Blue Box Benefit and cocktail reception for the Jason Taylor Foundation, Inc., on Wednesday evening, June 7, 2006 at 7:00pm.
Karen Kleinman, Director of Tiffany & Co., Bal Harbour Shops, and Miami Dolphins All-Pro Defensive End Jason Taylor and his lovely wife Katina will host the Mystery Blue Box Benefit and cocktail reception in support of Take Stock in Children, Inc.
The Mystery Blue Box Benefit demonstrates Tiffany & Co. continued commitment to support and partner with organizations such as The Jason Taylor Foundation that assist charities focusing on the education, health, and welfare of South Florida youths.
The Mystery Blue Box Benefit is in its second year, and The Jason Taylor Foundation along with Take Stock in Children, Inc., is excited about this year's upcoming event. Last year's event was attended by Academy-Award winner Jaime Foxx, super music producer Timbaland, actor Tommy Ford, and a bevy of South Florida's finest citizens, athletes, and socialites.
The 2005 Mystery Blue Box Benefit directly supported a scholarship that is co-sponsored by Tiffany & Co. Bal Harbour Shops and The Jason Taylor Foundation and awarded by Take Stock in Children, to a Jason Taylor Scholar. The 2005 recipient of the scholarship is Miss Leah Breines, of Pembroke Pines, FL. Leah is 14, and attends Walter C. Young Middle School. Leah is presently being cared for by her grandparents, while her mother is awaiting a liver transplant. Leah is a straight A student that plays the French horn and plans to become a pediatrician.
The evening will begin with a Red Carpet walkway into the Tiffany & Co. store. Guests will be greeted by Tiffany & Co. employees and photographers. Invited guests will have an opportunity to purchase a Mystery Blue Box for $300.00 from a beautiful display of 40 Tiffany blue boxes, which will have items from Tiffany's fabulous collections of jewelry and giftware. All items in the Mystery Blue Box will be on catalogue display for viewing. Retail prices of the items range from $50.00 - $1,750.00. The mystery is that no one will know what is inside the box they have purchased.
The Jason Taylor Foundation was founded in 2004 by Taylor and his wife Katina. The mission of the foundation is to support and create programs that facilitate the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida's children in need by focusing on improved health care, education, and quality of life. The Jason Taylor Foundation has taken a special interest in Take Stock in Children and recently donated $36,000 to the organization to create seven years of mentorship as well as four-year college tuition scholarship for three deserving students.
Take Stock in Children is a school-based, Florida-wide comprehensive mentoring and scholarship program whose mission is to break the cycle of poverty and academic failure for low-income, at-risk children. Currently more than 10,000 children participate statewide, and over 800 are from Miami-Dade and Broward county's poorest neighborhoods.
