Mission Hills, CA (PRWEB) June 7, 2006
Long term mentoring relationships sometimes fall into a rut in which the mentor and mentee run out of activities to do together. While this situation can lead to a break up of the mentoring pair, the situation actually presents a wonderful opportunity to grow and fill the relationship with new purpose, meaning and excitement.
Syndee Kraus, a mentor with Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, addressed this situation by working with her mentee to set and follow through on concrete goals for their relationship. Syndee’s work to strengthen and deepen her mentoring relationship has proven so effective that America Learns is recognizing it as the America Learns June 2006 National Strategy of the Month. The strategy will be available for free to thousands of mentors, tutors, teachers and parents worldwide via America Learns’ Web site and June e-newsletter.
“Syndee has such a beautiful relationship with her mentee,” said Graig Meyer, Program Coordinator, Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate. “Although their personalities are different, it’s clear that they find it easy to be together. When you read this strategy, you can see how closely they work together to make their relationship work.”
“While a number of resources exist on beginning and ending a mentoring relationship, it can be difficult to find resources on reigniting and growing existing relationships,” said Gary Kosman, Founder and CEO, America Learns. “By sharing Syndee’s straightforward and easy to use strategy on our public Web site and monthly e-newsletter, Syndee will help mentors and mentees worldwide push their relationships to the next level.”
Syndee’s strategy may be accessed for the remainder of June at http://americalearns.net/strategy.htm, and will be permanently available to all America Learns Network members.
