Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 8, 2006 -- When Colby Luckenbill of Colby Gallery, Chicago, needed archival quality reproductions of Hans-Ulrich Buchwald’s watercolors for a 60-year retrospective of the German artist’s work, she turned to Gamma Imaging.

I decided to do the same thing for Hans-Ulrich’s work, as part of our retrospective, and after a lot of research I identified Gamma as the ideal source.

We displayed them beside the originals with pride, and it was actually difficult to tell them apart. Hans-Ulrich, who flew in from Germany for the show, was very impressed.

For these reproductions, we scanned the originals with an ultra-high resolution ZBE Satellite scanner. Then we output them on our Epson Stylus Pro printer, using fine archival paper and lysonic inks, to accurately reproduce the full range of subtle colors and all the fine detail in the paintings.

But there’s a lot more to it than just firing up an expensive scanner and printer. Our trained technicians, many of whom are artists themselves, go through a very painstaking, collaborative process of proofing and adjustment to get the prints exactly right.
