Douglas N. Roesemann Named President of Carroll Publishing.

Thomas E. Carroll, founder and Chairman of Carroll Publishing, has just announced the appointment of Douglas N. Roesemann as President of Carroll Publishing and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

“We are delighted to have someone of Doug’s caliber joining us to spearhead our growth in the library and corporate markets,” said Mr. Carroll. “With Doug’s expertise leading Carroll into the future, we will be able to attain our goal of offering more products that are more useful to both libraries and the commercial marketplace. We are very excited about all that he will contribute to our team.”

Mr. Roesemann comes to Carroll Publishing with a wealth of experience in creating, managing and marketing information products and publications. Previously, he served for six years as President of infoUSA, Inc.’s Government and ReferenceUSA (Library) Divisions, prior to which he was partner and general manager of Trysail, Inc., a high-tech consulting, training and publishing company in Washington, DC.

His extensive publishing background also includes tenure as executive vice president and general manager of Chadwyck-Healey Inc., a leading publisher of full-text, electronic databases, and executive sales and marketing positions with information providers UMI (now ProQuest Company) and Springer-Verlag, New York, Inc. (an international publisher of scientific/technical/medical information).

A well-known figure to the library market, Mr. Roesemann was named an “Industry Notable” in the first annual “Movers & Shakers” issue of LIBRARY JOURNAL magazine, and was named a Nebraska representative to the National Advocacy Honor Roll by the Association for Library Trustees and Advocates (ALTA) Division of the American Library Association last year. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Libraries USA (FOLUSA). He also serves on the board of the Omaha Public Library Foundation and maintains professional memberships in the American Library Association, the Special Library Association, and the American Marketing Association.
