Toronto, ON (PRWEB) June 8, 2006 -- Altimate Systems Inc. announced today that it has added print stream document management to its core document management and document workflow software solution.
In order to meet the document management requirements imposed by print stream document software solutions, Altimate Systems has created a print stream document management component that resides within its OpenEDMS document management and document workflow system. Any print stream document generated by document creation software can be seamlessly imported into OpenEDMS, where it is stored and managed in much the same way that MS Word, Excel, pdf, and image files are stored and managed.
Alternatively, OpenEDMS can be integrated with existing document vaults. Generated print streams and their associated journal files can be stored in the data vault. A copy of the journal file is automatically imported into OpenEDMS, where it is seamlessly integrated into the index server, rendering all of the documents in the data vault searchable and retrievable.
All imported print stream documents are subject to OpenEDMS Administration functionality: ACL permissions, Document class / metadata definition, Retention and archive management, System permissions, etc. In addition, when necessary, individual print stream documents can be submitted to workflow processing for review, approval, and distribution.
