Accessible Systems, Inc. Helps OCULUS Document Management Software Conform to Section 508 Standards
Accessible Systems, Inc. (ASI) recently assisted ROH Inc. in making OCULUS, its web-based document management software, conform fully to the standards of Section 508.
Ellicott City, Md. (PRWEB) June 8, 2006 -– Accessible Systems, Inc. (ASI), a recognized leader in information technology accessibility recently helped ROH Inc. to make OCULUS, the Virginia-based software company’s web-based document management software, accessible and fully conforming to the technical standards of Section 508. The software, which makes it possible for organizations to remotely capture, manage and share documents, underwent extensive manual testing by ASI employees with disabilities, using the leading assistive technology devices on the market.
As OCULUS is essentially a hybrid of software and web applications, ASI helped to validate that the product met both the software and the web application standards of Section 508. The software’s help system and documentation was also made accessible so that agencies could easily put the materials into alternative formats, as required by law. The end result is a very accessible and useable product.
In addition, ASI provided training to ROH software developers so that they have the tools necessary to ensure that future products are accessible.
