(PRWEB) June 9, 2006 -- METTLER TOLEDO announces the release of LabX Direct Balance software for easier-than-ever entry of weight values into a personal computer.
LabX Direct Balance was designed to replace time-consuming and error-prone manual transcription of weight data by sending it electronically from a laboratory balance to a PC. Once the balance is connected (all METTLER TOLEDO balances with an RS232 interface are supported), the user simply has to press the “print” key on the balance and the readout is transferred to a computer spreadsheet or to a cursor position in any other open PC application.
As with other LabX modules, installation and setup are fast and easy. A simple interface guides the user through the set-up. LabX Direct Balance allows a choice of which balance data string components should be transferred. Users simply select the data and layout format from the list for transfer to the spreadsheet. Parameters may be set so that only stable values are released for transfer, among other setting choices. The software supports connection of one balance to an individual PC, and supports connection of a barcode reader for entering sample identification and other associated data.

LabX Direct Balance is the latest addition to the expanding LabX software platform from METTLER TOLEDO designed to facilitate control and data management on a variety of common lab instruments.
