The Information and Emergency Alert electronic signs are specially designed with real-time messaging capabilities that provide current news headlines and sponsor information. In the event of an emergency, the appropriate state agency takes control of the network to disseminate alerts, such as Levi’s Call (Georgia’s Amber Alert), Homeland Security emergencies, traffic and weather alerts.

In cases of the recent life-threatening hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, the Network will become a valuable source of additional information for the evacuees traveling Georgia’s Highways. During Hurricane evacuations from the Georgia coast and Florida, the Georgia D.O.T. opens its rest areas 24 hours per day, while keeping a full staff in place to assist evacuees.

The Network has been operating under a successful pilot program for the past year and is currently operational along the I-95 corridor from Savannah to the Florida state line.

The Georgia D.O.T., Georgia’s Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), and other state agencies are pleased to have access to this unique and powerful tool to assist them in carrying out their law enforcement and public safety responsibilities.

TICKERAlert’s Welcome Center & Rest Area program is supported solely by sponsor participation. Sponsors receive a large full-color logo panel on the sign along with text messaging capabilities that run along with the news headlines. It’s an effective way to get advertising messages to the traveling public along with supporting the state’s emergency notification system.

For additional information or to participate as a sponsor of the program, contact TICKERAlert at 770-844-7055 or visit the website www.TickerAlert.com
