Georgina Cates Cast for “Among the Shadows”

Georgina Cates, star of "Clay Pigeons" has been cast for new horror/thriller “Among the Shadows,” her first role in over five years.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 9, 2006 -- Georgina Cates, star of “Clay Pigeons” and “An Awfully Big Adventure” has been cast in the lead role in the thriller “Among the Shadows”, a film by Kevin Hicks. Principle photography is expected to begin this fall and is set against the backdrop of the 200-foot deep gorges of Central New York. “We need to shoot some integral scenes on the edge of a hazardous cliff,” said Juan Reinoso, producer of the film, “And as soon as we entered the gorge outside of Ithaca, I knew it would be perfect for ‘Among the Shadows.’ This, (combined) with Georgina Cates in the lead, will make for a classic thriller people will remember.”

Georgina Cates returns to feature films after her five-year hiatus to raise her twin boy and girl. She is most known for her memorable role as Amanda in the film “Clay Pigeons” which also starred Joaquin Phoenix and Vince Vaughn. “Everything about Georgina is perfect for the role of Sylvia. She’s a marvelous actress who will make the [Sylvia come alive on screen,” said Kevin Hicks, the film’s director and co-producer. “Georgina seemed to immediately connect with the character and I’m very excited to start working with her on this project.” Kevin Hicks previously directed a travel documentary and the self-penned independent film, “Waiting on Alphie.” “Among the Shadows” was written by Vickie Hicks, Kevin’s wife.
