Winning streak continues for event and experiential marketer Publicis Events Worldwide including Gold and Silver Event Marketer EX Awards, Event Design Award, SportsBusiness Journal “Forty Under 40,” and the THEA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Event Marketer Magazine awarded Publicis Events USA a Gold EX Award for its strategy behind and staging of the sanofi-aventis National Sales Meeting. The EX Award, judged entirely by brand-side marketers, is the event industry’s greatest symbol of recognition, with more than 500 entries from around the world and 100 percent focus on event marketing. The work for sanofi-aventis continues to deliver, as Event Design Magazine also has named Publicis Events USA and Publicis Events Paris as finalists for their combined efforts in delivering simultaneous National Sales Meetings in Las Vegas and Paris for the pharmaceutical giant. The Event Design Award, judged by the publication’s editors, stands as the most prestigious among exhibits, events and environments. Winners will be announced during the upcoming Event Design Forum in New York.

Publicis Events USA Chief Creative Officer and Emmy-Award Winner, Erik Ulfers will open the sold-out Event Design Forum Thursday morning, June 8, with an address emphasizing “Where Design Not Only Meets Business, But Drives Business…”

“Erik Ulfers is one of this industry’s most forward-thinking multidisciplinary designers,” said Event Design Editor and Publisher Dan Hanover. “He sees the walls between design disciplines crumbling and is uniting them all into the emerging practice of experience design.”

In addition to the Event Design Forum, Mr. Ulfers, frequently invited to speak on the subjects of events and experiential design, recently addressed the Lillehammer Design Conference 2006.

The awards and industry recognition continue for Publicis Events Worldwide and its network of companies including Publicis Events USA, Publicis Events Paris, ECA2 and Chicago-based Relay Sponsorship and Event Marketing. Relay Chairman and CEO Wally Hayward, who serves on the Publicis Events Worldwide Executive Committee, recently won the SportsBusiness Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award, the sports industry’s preeminent honor for superstar executives under the age of forty. Relay also won Silver from Event Marketer Magazine’s EX Award for the company’s work for Cingular Wireless and their sponsorship of the Mexican National World Cup Soccer Team.

From Paris-based ECA2, Yves Pépin, the French multimedia show creator, recently was awarded the ultimate accolade by his industry peers--the THEA Lifetime Achievement Award--presented by the Themed Entertainment Association. With this distinction, Pépin has once again broken new ground--he becomes the first non-American to receive the top tribute in the awards’ 12-year history.

The award, considered the “Oscar” of the themed entertainment industry, sees Pépin join the exclusive roll call of previous THEA Lifetime Achievers including Walt Disney legend Marty Sklar, theme park visionary George Millay, and Technifex CEO Monty Lunde. Pépin is President and Creative Director of ECA2, part of the Publicis Groupe network, and Executive Vice President of Publicis Events Worldwide.
