Newsroom Confidential, the weekly radio broadcast that provides an insiders’ guide to journalism and public relations, is seeking to identify and honor America’s best newsstands.

“What makes a newsstand great?” asks Dean Rotbart, host and executive producer of Newsroom Confidential. “What defines that unique blend of selection, presentation, location, parking and other amenities that raises a newsstand from the category of good to great?”

Newsroom Confidential and Rotbart invite listeners and bloggers to nominate their favorite newsstands. To do so, visit the Newsroom Confidential web site at www.newsroomconfidential.com, click on “Blog” from the menu at the top of the page, then click on “Nominate Your Favorite Newsstand.” Alternatively, nominations are also being accepted at Rotbart’s personal blog, www.deanrotbart.com.

Rotbart also invites history buffs to share with him their knowledge of the rich history of American newsstands. “I must confess, while I’ve always loved them, I don’t know much about their history and would love to learn more,” Rotbart says.

Those who know about the history of newsstands are invited to email or post directly on either of the “Blog” pages listed above.

Newsroom Confidential airs live each Sunday night on NewsTalk 870 KRLA in Los Angeles and is simulcast around the world on the Internet. In addition, the one-hour program is available throughout the week as a digital rebroadcast at http://www.newsroomconfidential.com.
