Klinedinst Announces Special Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for California Supervisors

Klinedinst PC, a California-based business law firm, has unveiled a new employment law workshop series to educate supervisors on ways to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. This training was mandated by the passage of Assembly Bill 1825. California law now requires businesses with 50 or more employees to train new supervisors within six months of their start date. The workshop taking place on June 27, 2006 will be hosted by Klinedinst's employment attorneys, and offer an interactive forum for managers and HR professionals to learn recent employment law updates.

Klinedinst PC today announced a new workshop designed to help businesses comply with California's employment laws, and train their supervisors on preventing sexual harassment in the workplace. This special Mid-Year Harassment Prevention Training Workshop will be held on June 27, 2006 from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

With the passage of Assembly Bill 1825 into law, California law requires supervisors to receive sexual harassment prevention training once every two years. This requirement applies to all California businesses with 50 or more employees. Klinedinst and others provide sexual harassment training towards the end of the year to help companies meet this requirement.

Another requirement of AB 1825 is that all new supervisors must receive this training with six months of their start date. That six-month requirement applies whether they were promoted from within, or hired from another company. Due in part to this extra requirement, thousands of companies may not be currently in compliance with California's employment law.

"Many managers and HR professionals are familiar with the two-year requirement," noted David B. Monks, Chair of the Employment Law Practice Group. "However, many companies overlook the requirement, postponing the training for their new supervisors until the end of the year. By that point, their supervisors may have been out of compliance for many months."

To address this need, Klinedinst PC will be hosting a special Mid-Year Harassment Prevention Training Workshop. Designed as a working lunch, the Workshop will help supervisors satisfy their legal requirements, and learn valuable tips to remain in compliance and out of court.

The Workshop will take place on Thursday, June 27th at 501 W Broadway, 21st Floor in San Diego. Seating is very limited for the event, and reservations are required. Admission is only $90.00 for the first attendee, and $60.00 for each additional attendee from the same firm or organization. Registration includes a catered box lunch, parking, written materials, and Certificate of Attendance.
