After years of research and development, TV Teach Me® has produced a series of child development DVD’s designed to engage infants and toddlers. The three DVD’s are TV Teach Me Art, TV Teach Me Letters and TV Teach Me Music. They are 25 minutes in length and include intricate patterns of songs and graphics that entertain children and tweak their natural curiosity.
To create these innovative resources TV Teach Me enlisted the expertise of speech pathologists, childcare experts, licensed early childhood educators, an award winning production team and most importantly-parents.
The Teach Me series was created knowing that most pediatricians say children under 2 should not watch TV. But research reveals that most parents, despite increasing debate over the effects of television on children, believe that the benefits of a little time in front of the tube outweigh the risks; even if just for their own sanity.
“Sometimes you just need some time to gather yourself,” notes Colleen Adkinson, Child Care Expert. “The videos introduce different sights and sounds as well as music which are not always readily available in the everyday environment of a child. They keep your child’s attention for those moments when you need short breaks in the day to attend to a variety of chores or unforeseen events that occur and they provide parents with a safe and reliable ‘timeout’.”
The slogan of TV Teach Me®, “Your baby’s IQ is up to you” encourages parents to take control of both the amount and types of stimulation your child is exposed to. While admittedly, most of today’s television does not promote a healthy environment, TV Teach Me® is committed to enhancing the experience of young minds and improving proper child development when a little TV time is unavoidable. These baby videos also make excellent baby gifts. To learn more about TV Teach Me or to purchase a DVD log on to http://www.tv-teachme.com.
