New Package Design Helps Users Pour Contents Evenly TricorBraun Wins Award for Design

TricorBraun designs a bottle that uniformly pours its content from the container.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 11, 2006 -- The effectiveness of many products depends upon the user’s ability to uniformly pour the item from its container. TricorBraun resolved that challenge for a liquid deicer manufacturer that wanted to broaden its customer base from airports to homeowners. For the deicer to work properly, it had to be applied in the correct amount to icy driveways and sidewalks.

The patented design solution, that recently earned the National Association of Container Distributors’ Silver Award, involved both the container’s closure and its handle, according to Craig Sawicki, executive vice president of TricorBraun Design and Engineering.

The closures feature holes that distribute the bottle’s contents in a shower pattern rather than straight down.

The large handle’s location midway on the 128-ounce container’s spine, rather than near the top, helps the user balance the jug as the product is poured and the center of gravity shifts.
