Turn Left at Greenland: The Crowd Scene Returns on Foldback Records
Pop classicists reissue seminal debut CD.
Winchester, VA (PRWEB) June 12, 2006 -- Wampus Multimedia subsidiary Foldback Records announces the reissue of 'Turn Left at Greenland,' the debut CD from British-American pop group The Crowd Scene.
From the urbane chamber pop of "Circus Act" to the heavenly harmony of "Surprise," 'Turn Left at Greenland' is shimmering trans-Atlantic pop refracted through a lens of the Kinks, the Left Banke, Television, and Elliott Smith. By turns alternately modern and Beatlesque, The Crowd Scene frames classic melody in a contemporary context. 'Turn Left at Greenland' features singer-guitarist Grahame Davies and singer-bassist Anne Rogers, as well as drummer Mick Frangou (frequent collaborator of the Swell Maps and TV Personalities), and drummer Jim Kimberley (drummer for Squeeze).
Vin Scelsa of WNEW-FM in New York has supported the record with strong airplay.
The Crowd Scene joins a Wampus Multimedia roster that includes Cafebar 401, tvfordogs, Casey Abrams, Arms of Kismet, Johnny J Blair, Alice Despard, and others, as well as 'Hurry Home Early: the Songs of Warren Zevon,' 'After Hours: a Tribute to the Music of Lou Reed,' and 'If I Were a Richman: a Tribute to the Music of Jonathan Richman.'
