We’re talking about the giants of the drug business…..CVS; Walgreen’s; Rite Aid; Cosco; Target; and Walmart pharmacies. Our company has achieved a real first here, and best of all we did it with an all natural formulation. It’s almost impossible to get a natural formula sanctioned as an actual medication, and SiCap Industries has done it
Albany, NY (PRWEB) June 12, 2006
In 2003, Sicap Industries launched the world’s first hot pepper nasal spray aimed at the sinus, headache and allergy markets. The product known as “Sinus Buster” was an instant hit with consumers and medical professionals around the world, but at the time it was believed that “Capsaicin,” the natural active ingredient in hot peppers would never be sanctioned to receive an official NDC, (National Drug Code) number from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
Now barely three years later, SiCap has received official clearance to market their natural pepper nasal spray as an official Homeopathic Over The Counter (OTC) medication. According to SiCap officials, the significance of this FDA action is historic.
“We’ve been working hard over the past three years to develop our Capsaicin nasal sprays into a workable FDA approved Homeopathic OTC. Most OTCs are not comprised of all natural ingredients, and the FDA criterian is pretty narrow for OTC monographs. Luckily the FDA offers two sets of OTC sanctioned products. The most well known products are registered under OTC Monograph rules, but the other set adheres to Homeopathic rules, and Sinus Buster is Homeopathically formulated. While Capsaicin is not approved to combat headache, sinus and allergy symptoms under an OTC Monograph, it is accepted under Homeopathic OTC rules. Our researchers worked closely with our legal team to develop our original formula into the world’s first Homeopathic Capsaicin nasal spray under the rules of the FDA and the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States,” says Wayne Perry, president of SiCap Industries.
Through painstaking clinical research, the “R&D” team at SiCap was able to develop their product into a true “All Natural” medicine that is safe to use indefinitely thanks to its’ Homeopathic formulation. According to Perry, the result has been hugely rewarding to every aspect of their business.
“Our original formula has always been homeopathic due to its’ dilutions, but thanks to the guidance of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia, we’ve been able to develop that original idea for hot pepper nasal spray into an entire line of sprays specifically designed to relieve symptoms for a variety of ailments. And now we’re allowed to make official medicinal claims for our Sinus Buster nasal sprays based on the rules of the FDA and HPUS. As an official member of the NDC directory, we can now sell our Capsaicin nasal sprays in the largest drug store chains. Sinus Buster has officially taken its’ place in history as the world’s first OTC registered Capsaicin pepper nasal spray, and with patents pending on our entire nasal spray line, we’re poised to capture the market we created in the first place,” boasts Perry.
The original Sinus Buster “Sinus & Headache” formula is already being sold on the shelves of more than 1,500 stores throughout North America. With the list of retailers growing weekly, SiCap has progressively increased sales by an astounding 200% each year. Although Sinus Buster is available in large health food and supermarket chains, the largest drug retailers have yet to jump aboard due to the absence of official NDC recognition. Today’s announcement means the world’s first “Hot Pepper Nasal Spray” has gotten the “Green Light” to drive into the nation’s top drug store chains.
“We’re talking about the giants of the drug business…..CVS; Walgreen’s; Rite Aid; Cosco; Target; and Walmart pharmacies. Our company has achieved a real first here, and best of all we did it with an all natural formulation. It’s almost impossible to get a natural formula sanctioned as an actual medication, and SiCap Industries has done it,” adds Perry.
With sales expected to hit the 2 million dollar mark in 2006, SiCap Industries is banking on becoming the next OTC giant making “Sinus Buster” into a household name. The company has confirmed they are presently reviewing offers from several private capital investment firms hoping to take this high performing “Start Up” to the next level. Not bad for a company that started with a mere 500 dollar investment barely three years ago.
Although company officials would not comment specifically, there have also been rumors swelling around SiCap’s interest in taking the company public in 2007.
“I can’t comment on that, but I will say that a public offering would not be out of the question if we had the right sponsors. With proper capital investment, SiCap could easily be doing yearly sales of two hundred million dollars by 2010. Without capital investment, we predict closer to twenty million dollars,” says Perry.
