AudioForce promotes audio books on CD to the masses.

There is something new under the sun. An internet company using a scam-associated technique to do something productive: get people to listen to books on CD and tape. has turned the traditional pyramid scheme on its head by creating an “AudioForce” to promote audio books. Instead of paying to get into the program, AudioForce members are given top selling audio books which they must lend out to people, encouraging them to listen. There is also a $100 commission on each referral.

Janet Barnes, of, says applicants to the program are initially cynical. “Oddly enough, the $100 commission makes people suspicious that this is some sort of scam until they receive the actual books with no bill or credit card request. Audio book lovers naturally talk about audio books. We’re just trying to accelerate the process.” offers outsize commissions to build their AudioForce affiliate sales force. Currently in beta, the company is looking for applicants at Once approved, successful applicants will receive two best selling books (like the Da Vinci Code, or Memoirs of a Geisha), gift cards, and instructions on how to go out and promote audiobooks.

According to Barnes, “Most people don’t know what books on CD or tape are. You need someone to hand you a disc and say: Here, listen to this, you’ll love it!”

For now,’s AudioForce is small and growing slowly, but Barnes thinks this is a good thing. “We can’t afford to give away too many audiobooks all at once anyway.”

Launched in 2006, was created as a word of mouth experiment to expand the global audio book market and bring audio books into the mainstream. Using its AudioForce, an affiliate sales force that earns commission on referrals to a leading audio book retailer, is dedicated to educating consumers on the benefits of listening to audio books in all formats.
