Shamin Hotels, the largest hotel management company in Virginia and one of the fastest growing in the nation, is partnering with River's Bend, a premier golf club, to provide "stay and play" packages for golf enthusiasts.

Virginia’s largest hotel management company today announced they are partnering with Metro Richmond’s premier golf club to bring sportsmen and women from around the country to the area for a “golfing experience.” Shamin Hotels and River’s Bend Golf Club are launching RichmondGolfPackages.com, a website offering golf enthusiasts the chance to play at River’s Bend and other golf clubs while staying at Shamin’s nearby properties.

“There was nothing like this kind of ‘stay and play’ packaging in the market,” said Joe Reardon, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Shamin Hotels. “We partnered with a great golf company to bring a true experience to Central Virginia. There was a definite need for this and we feel that everyone will embrace a great package and destination.”

Rivers Bend is located near Shamin Hotels’ corporate headquarters as well as their Homewood Suites and Holiday Inn Express properties in Chester, Virginia. Packages are also offered in conjunction with the Commonwealth Golf Trail. Additional courses that are connected with River’s Bend will eventually be offered, as Shamin Hotels are located throughout Richmond.

”River’s Bend is proud to be involved in this partnership with a great hotel management company like Shamin Hotels,” said Ronnie Kelly, Co-owner of River’s Bend Golf Club.

Chip Edwards, also a co-owner of River’s Bend, added, “With the combination of great golf courses and great hotel choices, we are sure RichmondGolfPackages.com will be a big success.”

The golf packages available through RichmondGolfPackages.com include deluxe accommodations at a Shamin Hotels property, complimentary hot breakfast, use of all hotel amenities, and 18 holes on the premier River’s Bend golf courses, golf carts, discounted lunch at the club, and preferred tee times. Prices start at $149.

”Finally Central Virginia has the opportunity to showcase the great golf courses available only minutes from Interstate 95,” said PGA Golfer Bobby Lopez, who lives in Hampton Roads. “I'm a transplanted Floridian and I can attest that Virginia golf courses have character, rolling fairways and breathtaking views that Floridians can only dream about".

RichmondGolfPackages.com is just one of the exciting things happening at Shamin Hotels in 2006. By the end of the year, the company expects to break ground on six new hotels in Virginia, including the new Hilton in Short Pump. Between newly constructed facilities and acquisitions, Shamin Hotels plans to practically double the size of its portfolio in the next five years, becoming a powerhouse of hotel management growth on the East Coast.
