As a contribution to advancing research in the field of manufacturing, the Network of Excellence for Innovative Production Machines and Systems (I*PROMS), funded under the EU Sixth Framework Programme, is organising IPROMS 2006, an International Virtual Conference on Intelligent Production Machines and Systems, for July 3 to July 14.
IPROMS 2006 provides a platform for presenting, discussing and disseminating research results contributed by scientists and industrial practitioners active in the area of intelligent systems and soft computing techniques and their application in different areas of manufacturing. During the conference, people across the world will be able to register FREE of charge as guest delegates and view papers and presentations and take part in the online discussions via the conference Web site http://conference.iproms.org
IPROMS 2006 builds upon the outstanding success of the IPROMS 2005 virtual conference held in July of last year. During IPROMS 2005 there were some 4168 registered delegates and guests from 71 countries who participated in the conference thereby making it a truly global phenomenon. Since the conference, there have been some 170,000 visits to the conference website. Papers presented during last years conference continue to regularly appear in the top 5 search results from popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.
