New Higher Field Strength Vibrating Sample Magnetometer
The Lake Shore Cryotronics Model 7404 Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) system now offers typical maximum field strengths to 2.17 T at room temperature and 1.18 T with variable temperature options installed.
Westerville, OH (PRWEB) June 14, 2006 -- The Lake Shore Model 7404 Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) system is now available with a new, higher-field variable-gap 4-inch electromagnet and 2.5 kW bipolar power supply. Typical maximum field strengths to 2.17 T at room temperature and 1.18 T with variable temperature options installed are now achievable versus 1.8 T and 0.9 T respectively with the previous generation electromagnet and power supply. The additional field strength provides a more cost-effective solution for those requiring field strengths that were previously only achievable with a larger electromagnet-based VSM system.
Lake Shore offers a full line of VSM systems. Features include maximum field strengths to 3.1 T and sensitivity of 1 × 10-7 emu at 10 s/point – the most sensitive electromagnet-based VSM available today. Variable temperature options provide for measurements from 4.2 K to 1,273 K. Vector/torque and automated sample rotation options extend the utility of the 7400 series VSM for magnetic anisotropy studies. The 7400 series VSM accurately and quickly measures major and minor hysteresis loops, remanence curves, and much more under full software automation.
