Michelle Carmody, a long-time staff member at the Florida Chiropractic Association, has been appointed to the new position of manager, business development in the Healthcare Business Division of ACOM Solutions, Inc., it was announced today by Vice President Gregory T. Church.

In her new position, Carmody will perform a variety of sales functions, with primary responsibility for developing and maintaining partnership relations with chiropractic colleges, professional organizations, networks and related companies that have interests and activities that complement those of the St. Petersburg-based ACOM division. She is based in Orlando and operates nationally, reporting to Church.

Carmody’s networking expertise and knowledge of the profession were built up over more that 21 years as Expo Coordinator at the Florida Chiropractic Association, where she focused on sales and management of the association’s seminar, exposition, and revenue-building programs. Among these were the annual FCA exposition and convention, one of the nation’s most successful chiropractic expositions, which she produced for more than 15 years.

Carmody also developed exhibitor and membership campaigns, established association-endorsed member benefit programs, coordinated a high-end annual golf tournaments, developed event speaker programs, conducted advertising and marketing programs in support of all of the association’s activities, and coordinated joint activities between FCA and other organizations in the field She left the association in early 2005 in order to create her own consulting organization, feeling that after 21 years she needed a fresh challenge.

One of those challenges, Carmody said, turned out to be a consulting relationship with ACOM’s Healthcare Business Division and it yielded the fresh opportunity that she was seeking.
