De Montfort University Secure E –Mail with Copperfasten
ITS Feda Ltd. has implemented the Copperfasten Mail Firewall Appliance in De Montfort University protecting over 35,000 staff and student email accounts from viruses, spam, malware and unwanted content.
(PRWEB) June 14, 2006 -- IT Management in De Montfort chose the Copperfasten solution following an extensive evaluation of several product offerings on the market.
According to Peter Holt, Senior Support Specialist with the University “We looked at a number of solutions prior to running with the Copperfasten Appliance. While all were quite good, Copperfasten had a number of features that set it apart. It offered excellent virus and spam detection rates combined with functionality which off set the management of email to the end user thus greatly reducing our helpdesk resource requirements. It also was unique in its ability to fit seamlessly into our existing email infrastructure at a price that was well within our budget.”
ITS Feda Ltd. (a leading educational IT Service Provider) implemented a high-availability solution with twin Copperfasten MFA1000’s in a load balanced failover cluster catering for upwards of 35000 users. The De Montfort University email infrastructure which extends across three campuses and utilizes a combination of email servers and web mail services provided an excellent large site proving ground.
“After assessing De Montfort complex requirements we felt that Copperfasten was the obvious choice. Having placed the Copperfasten Anti-Spam Appliance in a number of 15,000+ user institutions we had already seen how effective it has proven itself to be. The economies of scale it exhibited in these sites were even more evident in the case of De Montfort.” said Mike Mena, Account Manager with ITS Feda.
“We put the Copperfasten solution live two weeks ago running all the mail for DMU. Since that day we have barely seen any SPAM on any mail system. After the solution went live we had calls from users saying that their mail was not working, after we had talked to them we found that actually all the spam, 50 - 100 messages per day, had disappeared, not that their mail was not working.” said Peter Holt.
