PDL Records Signs Philanthropy
Independent record label PDL has reached agreement with UK based indie rock band Philanthropy to offer management, recording, production and distribution services.
(PRWEB) June 16, 2006 -- Philanthropy are a UK Indie rock band who have rapidly been gaining recognition in the UK as one of the best new bands, particularly on the live scene where Philanthropy have had great success in London and around their home city of Guildford.
Although they have only been gigging for just over 1 year they have already headlined at The Garage in Islington, London and appeared as a support to Caroline Alexander during her recent gig at The Forum, Kentish Town, London. This venue has seen some of the biggest and most legendary artists perform on its stage during their early career and it is no surprise to find Philanthropy adding their name to the list of up and coming performers who have treaded the boards of this fine venue.
PDL records became aware of Philanthropy around 10 months ago and has helped the band develop and grow to a point where they were ready to record their first full album, Dead Dogmas. This was released recently and PDL are currently arranging its distribution both physically and via the download sites. Following the good working relationship built up during the recording process it was agreed that PDL Records would assume the role of Manager for Philanthropy and take over the day to day management activities which had until then fallen mainly to Tim Huzar, vocalist and guitarist for Philanthropy. This move frees Tim up to concentrate on writing more songs and allows the whole band to concentrate on the live performance aspect whilst PDL Records arranges gigs etc.
Tim Huzar said “ I am very excited about the future for Philanthropy. We have an ever growing base of loyal fans who support us at our gigs, and now with the backing of PDL Records we are able to spread our music to a wider audience. We are all excited by the agreement with PDL and are really looking forward to the gigs planned for September and beyond.”
The first effect of this new management line-up can be seen in September when Philanthropy set off on a series of gigs around the South of England. All details of their gigs can be found on their web site www.philanthropy-official.com where you will also find mp3’s of their music and photographs taken at their gigs.
The band consists of Olli Daffarn on synthesizer and guitar, Dan Hertogs on drums, Tim Huzar on vocals and guitar, James McIntosh on guitar and rhymes and Graham Pether on bass.
