Amstel Light, the No. 1 imported light beer in the United States, is the official beer sponsor of the 24th Annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, from Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18, 2006.
Amstel Light is participating in The Classic because of the Dutch brand’s popularity in fine culinary settings, and because it compliments the brand’s ongoing “Live Tastefully” message.
The brand will debut its Amstel Light Bar & Lounge at The Classic, a custom-built bar and lounge installation, which will travel to similar premium events throughout the U.S.
At The Classic, the Amstel Light Bar & Lounge will be located in the courtyard of the Grand Tasting Pavilion — the epicenter of The Classic. Amid the cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, wine tastings and special events, the Amstel Light Bar & Lounge will be an oasis of relaxation: Perfectly chilled Amstel Light will be served in stylish pilsner glasses, complimented by delectable hor d’oeuvres, and served outdoors to guests at umbrella’d tables by an attentive waitstaff.
Culinary star Dave Lieberman — an Amstel Light ambassador — will be making an appearance at the Amstel Light Lounge on Saturday, the 17th, from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m.
Lieberman, 26, is best known for his popular Food Network show, “Good Deal With Dave Lieberman.” The show, which debuted in 2004, attracts more than 600,000 viewers per episode. Lieberman is considered to be the next rising star of the network as he is accessible to foodies and beginners alike; he is the youngest chef ever to have a show on the Food Network. He is also the first TV chef who appeals to both a young audience (his first cookbook was titled “Young and Hungry”) and their mothers.
Lieberman’s appearance at the Amstel Light Lounge will include Amstel Light pourings with light food pairings, such as Amstel Light’s BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders —using Amstel Light in this original Lieberman recipe. Lieberman will be making other appearances on Amstel Light’s behalf in Aspen during the The Classic.
Additional Amstel Light pourings during The Classic will include: The Welcome Reception at the Trinchero Family Estates (Thursday, June 15, 6 to 8 p.m.); The Best New Chefs Dinner and Party at the Ritz-Carlton Club (Saturday, June 17); The Food & Wine Publisher’s Party; and others.
