Breast Cancer Couple Blogging For Their Survival

Marjory and Gordon Cameron have come up with a unique way of coping with Marjory's breast cancer - they're blogging their experience on the web! They hope that sharing their cancer story will help both themselves and others to deal more easily with breast cancer treatments.

Edinburgh, Scotland (PRWEB) June 16, 2006 -- Registered nurse Marjory Cameron was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2006. Her husband, Gordon, is a family doctor based near Edinburgh in Scotland.

The Camerons started blogging in May 2006 in the hope that doing so would help them cope more easily with Marjory's breast cancer and its treatment.

We really didn't think anyone would read what we were writing when we first started
Their site is published in web log or "blog" format and is a blended mix of personal items about Marjory's ordeal and more medical Breast Cancer Information content written by Gordon.

They have already attracted widespread attention on the internet and many breast cancer sufferers from around the world have recently been in touch.

"We really didn't think anyone would read what we were writing when we first started" said Marjory, "but the responses and the messages of support we receive are really gratifying. It seems that we are already helping others by sharing what we learn as we go along."

The couple have discovered that many of the existing breast cancer websites are excellent technical resources but only a very few describe the true day-to-day experiences of the patient - and none that explore the problems of the patient's partner.

Gordon says "we hope that some of what people find on our site will lessen their breast cancer worries or might bring them some small comfort on their breast cancer journey." He went on to say "we've found that describing our own problems online has made them easier to cope with"

Marjory and Gordon intend to continue building their site on a daily basis and hope to create a long lasting and down to earth breast cancer treatment resource.
