Palm Springs, CA (PRWEB) June 21, 2006 -- DPPpress (www.dpppress.com) and DigitalPulp Publishing (www.digitalpulppublishing.com), a year and a half-old ePublishing company, launched their online bookstore just over five months ago and are continuing to stock new inventory daily.
New authors, independent publishers, and small presses are helping to create a bookstore that offers an eclectic array of literary offerings.
One of the most current – and definitely unique - offerings in the DPPstore is the 2004, self-published, The Joys of African Sex, Jokes, Courtesies and Idiosyncrasies, by Boniface Ndemping Wewe.
Right from start, with the title, a comical salute to The Joys of Sex –one of the most popular books in public libraries in the USA– Wewe, has a high time poking fun, paying respect and excoriating various elements of the contemporary African scene.
He also uses broad satire to ridicule the behavior of officials as when the late strongman of the Ivory Coast, Robert Guei, quarantined the national soccer team after they lost a tournament.
“Wewe is quick on his feet,” says a review from Kirkus Discoveries. “He knows when to deploy humor and when to jab a sharp stick in the eye.”
Boniface Ndemping Wewe was born in Cameroon, West Central Africa. He was educated in Cameroon and at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA) where he obtained his Master’s degree in Library Sciences, on a Fullbright scholarship, in 1991. He is also a winner of the 2003 New York Times Librarian Award for outstanding community service.
The DPPstore offers eBooks from first-time authors to well-established experts. There is definitely something for everyone. Titles that were once only available in traditional print, and eBook titles that once upon a time were not as readily accessible, are now available through DPPpress (www.dpppress.com) at the DPPstore.
The store offers some free titles with prices ranging through $47.00, and a rewards program is available for frequent buyers. Purchasing and downloading books is as safe and easy as ordering from the bigger online bookstores.
