PRWeb Experiments with First Consumer-Driven Press Release

PRWeb® is offering $1000 to the first blogger to successfully identify all of PRWeb's new platform enhancements as of June 10, 2006. This experiment is open to all bloggers who identify these new features and TrackBack to this release.
While this experiment is informal, it also favors loyal PRWeb users. We felt that it would be fun to allow our users to involve themselves in the announcement process

Ferndale, WA (PRWEB) June 15, 2006 -- PRWeb®, the Online Visibility Company™, has decided to use the power of the blogosphere to announce the new features that have been added to its press release distribution platform since June 10, 2006. These new features (there are between 1 and 10), have been added to enhance PRWeb's distribution offerings. Rather than create a press release to announce all of the new features, PRWeb decided to have the blogging community help construct the announcement by utilizing its TrackBack technology.

“While this experiment is informal, it also favors loyal PRWeb users. We felt that it would be fun to allow our users to involve themselves in the announcement process,” commented Joel Baker, President and COO of PRWeb.

To participate, bloggers must:
1. Successfully identify all of the new enhancements made to the PRWeb platform since June 10, 2006.
2. Create a blog post that identifies these enhancements and discusses their impact.
3. Post a TrackBack/PingBack into this press release.

PRWeb staff will comment on blog posts to let bloggers know if they have correctly identified one or more of the new elements and provide hints as needed. The winner will be announced on CEO David McInnis' Public Relations Blog at http://blog.prweb.com/.

"With our focus on and commitment to Web 2.0 technologies, there's no better way to promote our latest features than through this consumer-driven, socially-networked, interactive press release," explained David McInnis, Founder and CEO of PRWeb. "2006 has been a year of phenomenal growth and innovation for us, having already launched many well-received services that have proved integral to PRWeb's offerings. We are always excited to be able to unveil any new features that further support our position as the leading search engine optimized platform for press release distribution."

I noticed at least two changes over there. First they've added the ability to have break out quotes. This appears in the upper left and based on it's placement will add some serious visibility. Secondly, they've added a View News because as they put it "(Search Engine Optimization) is great for search engines, I'm just not one." One company that is definitely taking advantage of the new feature is Kong Male Enhancment who seems to be trying to put the sexy in PR.
