Moms Do Strange Housework For Dads On Father's Day

Moms honor Dads by doing the housework dads don't expect.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 17, 2006 -- Father's Day a time when Dads are supposed to catch a break from cutting the grass, taking out the garbage and fixing the plumbing needs another thing checked off the "honey do" list says Garth Gibson, a consumer advocate, author of How To Stop Paying Through The Nozzle At The Pump and blogger at Pain In The Gas, http://www.gasguzzlerpennypinching.com.

"Driving"

For some dads a man not to be at the head of the wheel is akin to riding a bike on Route 66. Technically you can do it but why would you.
After all Route 66 is built for cars and Men are built to drive them or so dads thought says Garth.

Male drivers like some of the characters in the movie Cars hit the road too much for speed, racing and physical appeal while overlooking gas mileage Garth says.

"Women are designed for better driving, they're tuned for finding cheap gas"

Men on the hand are clueless so Garth wants Moms to do something strange on Father's Day.

Take over the highways.

Dad owns a wrecker, 4 x 4, old clunker doesn't matter Garth wants Moms to test drive it anyway to show dear 'ol dad he deserves more than just cuff links and a tie. Spend up for dad by showing him how to spin the wheel for extra savings.

Garth believes Moms can do this because they have two skills that put them headlights above Dads at achieving gas pump savings.

1. Drive the speed limit

Moms make sure to observe the speed limit more than Dads. Gas mileage decreases rapidly when drivers travel at speeds over 60 mph and at 70mph drivers lose 20 percent more gas than at 55 mph.

2. Anticipate driving conditions

According to one study by the British Highways Agency women are especially concerned about systems that gives drivers warnings about road conditions and route guidance.

It is thought female drivers try to anticipate the driving conditions occurring on their route.

Once female drivers know the traffic is heavy on a certain road they take an alternate route. This action reduces gas guzzling while stuck in traffic.

"You’ll find that in the long run Moms can help families celecrate their dads as well as pump money back into their wallets."
