SeverCorr, has recently announced that it will be hosting a "Job Fair Initiative," to begin accepting applications for hourly positions at the SeverCorr steel mill in Columbus, MS. The "Job Fair Initiative" will be held Tuesday, June 13 through Saturday June 17, and Monday, June 19 through Wednesday, June 21, 2006, each day from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, at the East Mississippi Community College Technology Center, 8713 South Frontage Road, Mayhew, Mississippi.
Mississippi Department of Employment Security, (MDES), staff will be on hand to assist applicants with the process. Representatives from SeverCorr, Mississippi Department of Employment Security, (MDES), and East Mississippi Community College, (EMCC), will later screen the applications to ensure each applicant meets SeverCorr's criteria. SeverCorr will then make the final selection for the interviewing and subsequent hiring.
"We are thrilled to be at this stage," said SeverCorr President and CEO, John Correnti. "The process we are using will give everyone interested in applying for a job with SeverCorr an equal chance, and that is our goal," he added.
All applicants wishing to be considered for a position at SeverCorr will need to fill out an online "e-application." There will be no paper applications. In addition, interested parties may complete an e-application from any internet connection in the world. Equal consideration will be given to any completed MDES e-application received.

Applicants may also visit any WIN Job Center in Mississippi.
Applicants are asked to plan 45 minutes to complete the application and should bring their work and education history with them. There will be no childcare facilities on site.
