International Hair and Beauty Systems offers hairdressers and hair salons a better alternative to toxic ammonia based hair coloring products with Organic Color Systems.

International Hair and Beauty Systems is pleased to offer hairdressers and hair salons a better alternative to corrosive and toxic ammonia based products. Organic Color Systems is an ammonia free and ammonia substitute free hair color using advanced technology, to give a superior result.

Organic Color Systems ( is exclusively being distributed in the U.S. by hair industry expert and International Hair and Beauty Systems co-founder, Hilton Bell.

“Everybody at one stage in his or her life has had a bad experience in a hair salon,” says Bell. “There have been some pretty scary contraptions, as well as numerous chemical concoctions used in the hair industry over the past hundred years or so. Any Grandmother can relate horror stories about getting her hair permed back in the day. Burnt scalps and hair were a risk they took. There wasn’t a choice. Back then the chemicals were very dangerous to both the client and the hairdresser.”

“But we have come a long way in the last 100 years: space flight, medical breakthroughs, Nano technology, MP3 players and more. With all these advancements in so many fields, it is a mystery to me why a chemical such as Ammonia, which is used in explosives, fertilizer and cleaning products is still widely used in hair salons in their hair color.”

According to Bell, the lack of knowledge and understanding that exists in the hairdressing profession about the processes and treatments they use on a daily basis on their clients hair is scary. He says it's high time hair salons start using advancements in their field that other fields and professions already employ.

According to Bell, there's plenty of information available about the adverse effects of ammonia. Some clients end up with headaches, stinging eyes, trouble breathing, a nasty rash or end up in bed feeling terrible.

At the same time as ammonia is getting into clients and hairdressers' eyes and lungs, it's getting into the cuticle of the hair. Over time, the shaft of hair starts to resemble Swiss cheese. Ammonia not only negatively affects the cuticle of the hair, it also damages the amino acid or protein called Tyrosine which is found inside the hair shaft. When the Tyrosine is damaged, the hair's ability to hold onto color is greatly reduced or eliminated altogether.

With Organic Color Systems, color is introduced into the hair shaft without damaging the Tyrosine. The color lasts longer because the color has something to bond to.

Organic Color Systems' benefits include:

  • No ammonia or ammonia substitutes, therefore no damage to the hair
  • Rich, vibrant natural colors including reds and coppers that do not fade or yellow
  • Permanent or semi-permanent color
  • Lighten up to four levels without damage
  • No more itchy scalps, stinging or staining
  • No toxic odors in the salon
  • No ammonia gas to be inhaled
  • Ability to color clients' hair more often

“For countless reasons, being a hairdresser is not an easy career by any stretch of the imagination,” says Bell. “You have to have a very good understanding of geometry. You should have a natural ability to deal with people and like helping them. You have to be able to work in a precise manner with your work. In my mind 1/16 of an inch is the level of precision that makes a good haircut a great haircut. You have to understand other people’s perceptions of themselves and be able to translate that in to a look. You should have artist appreciation and be a good artist. You should have a great understanding of color. And, you should have a thorough education in chemistry of the hair and the numerous chemicals with which you are working with all day. With Organic Color Systems, you will a creative edge on everyone in the field.”
