Stick of Butter on a Stick Creates the World's Least Healthy Treat

Stick of Butter on a Stick™, the brain-child of Sacramento entrepreneurs Chris and Margaret Minnick, launches a Web site and announces big plans to sell deep fried sticks of butter at a state fair near you.

(PRWEB) June 21, 2006 -- In the battle for the most decadent dessert item, a 1000+ calorie bomb has just been dropped.

Attempting to out-do both the standard fairground treats such as cotton candy and snow cones as well as the more recent creations such as the candy bar on a stick, two savvy business owners in California's capital have invented what just might be the ultimate in fat overdose: Stick of Butter on a Stick.

Chris and Margaret Minnick are both in their early 30s and run a Web development company during the day. They decided to start selling Stick of Butter on a Stick to see just how far the idea of ultra-high calorie treats could be pushed. Says Chris Minnick, "We're not health food nuts who are trying to prove a point. We're doing this because we actually think there could be good money in it. I'm even considering eating one myself -- although, I'll probably go get a check-up first."

A check-up isn't the only precaution being taken by the Minnicks. They've also consulted with a lawyer regarding the risk of lawsuits from real or perceived health problems caused by their product. The lawyer has advised them to require purchasers of Stick of Butter on a Stick to sign a waiver stating that they've been advised of the risks of eating a quarter pound of butter that has been dunked in batter, deep fried, and possibly dipped in chocolate, nuts, and candy sprinkles.

The company's web site, www.stickofbutteronastick.com, features a jolly, but overweight, child enjoying the buttery treat. Visitors to the Web site can download the Stick of Butter on a Stick consumption waiver form as well as purchase T-shirts and other merchandise promoting the treat. The company's tag line proudly declares "Stick of Butter on a Stick is bad for you!"
