HyFONE Lauches Low-cost Mobile Telephony in Europe

Geneva, Switzerland (PRWEB) June 22, 2006 -- The Franco-Swiss company HyFONE is announcing the online availability of its "nomad telephony" services in 105 countries worldwide.
"Nomad telephony" is designed as partial replacement for traditional mobile telephony. It brings vastly reduced cost of operations and works without any client PC or notebook, using combined GSM-WiFi portable phones instead. This mobile usage of internet is based on WiFi and WiMAX access coupled with the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) internet telephony open standard.
For example, using your mobile phone to call China or the US for ten minutes tipically costs between 5 and 15 euros depending on the mobile operator and the place you are calling from. Using HyFONE the similar ten-minute call would cost you less than 20 cents.
Furthermore, HyFONE users ( called Foneziani) do not have to pay any roaming cost and can talk to each other free of charge (no time limit, no geographic limitation, no PC, no wires and no cost).
When registering for the first time, Foneziani receive their own telephone number (alike a Swiss fixed-line phone number) as part of the standard HyFONE subscription at no extra cost. This HyFONE number can be called from any other fixed or mobile phone in the world.
