PuckWear- The Net Generation of Hockey Apparel

PuckWear offers innovative and unique designs for hockey enthusiasts.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 22, 2006 -- In a motivational tape about following your passion, the speaker mentioned that, when interviewed, all of the great golfers remarked how much they loved golf and recommended that people follow their passion if they want to be successful. This got Michael Daehn’s mind going, and he started to think about what he loved. “I love hockey, and I had some ideas for some original shirt designs,” said Daehn. “I decided to talk to an artist friend of mine to create some shirts and get things started.”

Daehn opened an online store on CafePress called Get PuckWear. There are only a few designs right now as he tests the waters for a response. “I have invested a few hundred dollars on the artwork and printing a few shirts to show friends,” he said. “If people like them, I will make more.”

The designs are not what you usually see in stores or online. Daehn remarked, “Most of the shirts you see in stores are cheesy sayings or old ‘90s clipart. I wanted mine to be different and capture some of the fun of hockey and hockey players.”

The first few shirts have an international flair. Each one highlights a nation, such as Ireland, Germany, USA, and Canada; but these are not your typical designs. The USA shirt has an eagle and the words “E Pluribus Scorum.” The German shirt says “Uber Hockey,” and the Irish one says “Erin Go Score.” Daehn explained, “I chose the USA and Canada because that is where the best hockey is played; Germany is special because I have German heritage; and the Irish one looks cool with sticks and a shamrock.”

If the guy on Daehn’s motivational tape is right, these should be a big hit because he is certainly passionate about his hockey. “It’s the greatest sport on the planet, and these shirts look neat, so who wouldn’t want one?” he said. “I like them, and I hope I sell a few so I can afford to expand my personal wardrobe with a few more unique hockey designs.”
