Ten years ago ClassicCar.com became the first website to offer classic car enthusiasts a comprehensive source of information, entertainment, and advertising. They were the first to offer an online chat room, message board forum to the classic car community, and the first to build websites for many classic car clubs and museums. Having consistently been at the forefront of community development for these predominately baby-boomer enthusiasts, ClassicCar.com has added yet another innovative resource -- a one-page neighborhood where a large network of services geared to the classic car community can be accessed.

Motorhood Gold (MG) is the Neighborhood for “motorheads” of all shapes and sizes. Visitors click on a picture icon, with text that describes the service, and are taken to large, small and in-between sized companies who provide products, services and restoration advice for the hobbyist community. This includes everything from classic vehicle insurance, where to find rare parts and educational websites offering help with a restoration process.

Over the past ten years ClassicCar.com has helped many classic car clubs, museums, vendors and trade organizations get online for the first time. They have received numerous recognitions including a USA Today, Yahoo, and RPM "Hot Site" designation and the International Automotive Media Conference Award of Excellence.

The Motor Hood Gold Neighborhood page is laid out in a grid form giving advertisers a choice of 3 tiers to buy from. An advertiser or auto-related website is offered the opportunity to join the Neighborhood by the “block.” Premium, Deluxe and Advantage blocks are designated by how high up on the page they are located. They are rented by the year for $20, $15, and $10 per block. Advertisers may rent as many or as few blocks as they like.

“The innovative approach to offering blocks is that advertisers can create the size and shape of their presence in the Motorhood making it as noticeable as they want,” Carl LaFlamme, Advertising Manager of ClassicCar.com points out. “On your blocks you place an image - a logo, an icon or other picture, to make your block stand out. You receive 50 characters of text to describe yourself, which becomes visible when anyone visiting the page puts their cursor over your block. The blocks are directly linked to your website.“

Another big advantage to joining the “Hood” is the search engine standings. Besides receiving a high-quality link to your website from a high-traffic site like ClassicCar.com, (which by the way receives over 100,000 unique visitors per month) it is an excellent way to improve your search engine standings. Your block will be seen by thousands of people over the course of the year, and companies who are a part of this graphically interesting neighborhood dedicated to the classic car community, greatly benefit.

LaFlamme explains, “we wanted to create an innovative way for every classic car enthusiast with a website, and every small business out there serving the classic car community to benefit by our very large audience in a fun and yet inexpensive way.
