All over the World crews are preparing for an epic battle whose only reward is pride for self and country. "It's the Olympics of Street Dance" says Omar Paloma, chair of iDance and organiser of the UK National Trial.
For the second year running, successful UK crews who battled for the right to represent the United Kingdom before a packed house of over 1000, are preparing for war at the World Hip Hop Crew Championships July 30th 2006 in Los Angeles. UK Crews are expecting to face vicious competition from crews from over 20 nations.
The overall winner of the UK Hip Hop Crew Championships, 'Flawless' from London, are hotly tipped to be the next World Champions and were awarded a £1000 bursary towards travel and accommodation to compete at the World Hip Hop Championship in LA.
Also, Sin Cru from Brighton were awarded a £1000 bursary to compete in the first ever World Battle Bboy/Bgirl Championship. Sin Cru are amongst the UK's most respected bboy crews, are expexted to do very will in at World Battle.
LOOK OUT AMERICA THE BRITS ARE COMING BACK. Last year Plague from East London stunned the world by coming away with events top prize… Gold in the Adult division. July 30 2006 we find their successors.
For 2006 eight crews from Cardiff, Telford, London, Milton Keynes, Brighton will represent the UK at the World Championships.
The 2006 UK Hip Hop Crew Championships, presented by iDance is sponsored in part by Sound Check Ltd., Watford Council, and private donations. The event took place at the Colosseum in Watford, made world famous by the BBC orchestra, and films like Lord of the Rings for it's flawless acoustics. The UK qualifier was held May 21, 2006.
The Idance UK Hip Hop Crew Championships is a family oriented dance event that draws its participants and audience from all over, the UK and the World.

There are 2 categories and three divisions for this event:
Category One, the highlight, will feature dance crews of between 5 and 12 dancers, in an Olympic style contest to see who will earn the right to represent the UK at the World Hip Hop Championship in Los Angeles. The divisions are Juniors aged 7-12, Varsity, aged 13-17 and Adults aged 18+
Category Two World Battle UK Qualifier, the UK's Top Breakers Battle for absolute Supremacy
