The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Announces the Induction of Jean S. Fugett, Jr into Full Membership
(PRWEB) June 26, 2006 -- The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR, with the diligence and effort of the Maryland Society and Virginia Societies (MDSSAR) and (VASSAR), will proudly induct Jean S. Fugett, Jr. into full membership on 11 July 2006. The ceremony will be held at the Dallas Intercontinental Hotel, home for the 116th Annual Congress of the Society. Festivities are scheduled to occur during the Tuesday evening formal banquet.
Mr. Fugett is a former professional football player with the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. He is also the former CEO of TLC Beatrice. Jean entered Amherst College at the age of 16, and become the youngest player in the NFL in 1972 at age 20. Subsequently, he played in the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl, and earned a law degree from George Washington University. Jean is the brother of the late Reginald F. Lewis, the entrepreneur and philanthropist in whose honor the city of Baltimore named its Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History and Culture. Jean's father is currently a member of the SAR, and an application for Jean's son awaits review. When Russell Fugett's application is approved, the Fugetts will be the first Black American family to have three generations represented in the SAR. The Society warmly welcomes Mr. Fugett into full membership.
