(PRWEB) July 3, 2006 -- Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23,2006. Both shows are at 7 p.m. at the beautiful Wilshire Ebell Theatre. It is written, produced and directed by Damiek D. Barrow.
This play examines two of America's most powerful street traditions. One being the street gangs and the other the Nation of Gods and Earths (formally known as the 5% Nation.) These two societies originally were geared to influence the youth by establishing self identity and community pride. Though initiated with good intentions, some individuals live the complete opposite; in denial. Five unique characters will seduce your thoughts in dramatic technique of confidence and skill.
The plot's literary experimentation is nothing less than mind foreplay. Just when you think you've reached Nirvana, you're exhausted by multiple climaxes. See these characters are in love and they're passionate about it. They're in love with life and their ambitious pursuit of happiness. They're also in love for all the right and wrong reasons.
Audiences will see a tight knit cast dancing, singing and acting to this masterpiece of a script. With the exception of talented newcomer Ja'lon Wright, stage veterans Tony Paul, Lee White, Minerva Larry and Steve Abrams were all cast members of "Jumping the Broom,' Damiek's first production that received six NAACP nominations in 2003.
