Prem Rawat Brings Message of Peace to People in Vancouver

More than 800 people gathered at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster, British Columbia, to listen to Prem Rawat. "I'm here to talk about one simple thing that dwells in the heart of every human being," he said. "It is in this simplicity that peace resides. It is in this simplicity that your heart wants to dance."

New Westminster, British Columbia (PRWEB) July 3, 2006 -- More than 800 people gathered at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster, British Columbia, to listen to Prem Rawat. "I'm here to talk about one simple thing that dwells in the heart of every human being," he said. "It is in this simplicity that peace resides. It is in this simplicity that your heart wants to dance."

Prem Rawat, who is also known around the world by the honorary title Maharaji, has been inspiring people to satisfy a thirst that each person has for peace and happiness, since he was a child in India. Since then, he has brought his message to audiences in more than 50 countries around the world. His presentations are distributed in 70 languages in a variety of media.

Speaking for about an hour without notes, Prem Rawat urged audience members to make room in their lives for the simple joy of living and said he offers a practical way to do so.

"Let's feel. Let's understand. Let's enjoy," he said. "Let us fill the cup inside with joy, with gratitude, with understanding, and with clarity. This is the possibility of being alive."

The response from audience members was enthusiastic. "I have been drawing from his wisdom and clarity for a long time," said psychologist Leon Hawrtelenko. "Maharaji’s talks are a major source of guidance and have influenced the way I think about life and my connections to people."

Deborah Fauteux, a Calgary-based artist who was seeing Prem Rawat for the first time, said she felt "relaxed and very much gifted to be in such an environment. He expresses himself with such simple common sense. I appreciate that he traveled so far to speak to each of us about our blessings as human beings."

For 94-year-old Rupert William Wyckham, Prem Rawat’s speech addressed a long-standing quest. "I have been wanting to find a way to go inside for a long time," he said. A retired sales manager for a leading Toronto marketing firm, Wyckham, who now lives in Vancouver, attended the event with his daughter.
