US $22 Billion to $231 billion a Year in the Future

(PRWEB) July 4, 2006 -- After thirty years for the first time, the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House International Relations Committee endorsed historic civil nuclear deal with India. Senate committee voted 16-2 in favor of the deal on June 29, 2006, and the House committee voted 37-5 favoring the deal on Jun 27, 2006.

After studying several specific provisions, Mr. Rao Tuthika, 'a key player in the success of the deal', -- believes that 'this is not only going to benefit the United States and India, but also the rest of the world.'

“President Clinton laid the foundation to cement ties, and trade with India, and President Bush ceased the opportunity with India in the 21st century. Now, India, the United States, as many as three million Indian Americans, and Hundreds of American Companies are poised to redefine the ‘Global Leadership’ as Goodwill Ambassadors” Says Mr. Tuthika.

The Chairman of the House International Relations Committee, Mr. Henry Hyde, said "the impact of this legislation on the new geo-strategic alignment between India and the United States for the 21st century cannot be overstated. On June 29, 2006, in a statement, the Chairman appreciated Mr. Rao Tuthika efforts of "U.S–India Global Partnership."

Mr. Tuthika successfully addressed Senator Obama’s concerns of the possible implications of providing India with Civil nuclear technology for international non-proliferation efforts. And on 2nd May 2006, United States Senator Barrack Obama, a key member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, appreciated Mr. Tuthika’s perspective, and commended his efforts towards the deal with India on civil nuclear cooperation.

Strategic Value. - The agreement with India, "is the most important strategic diplomatic initiative" said the legislation's prime sponsor, Republican Committee Chairman Richard Lugar of Indiana.

"There is no other bilateral relationship that is more important," for the United States said Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware, the panel's senior Democrat and the bill's co-sponsor.

Benefits for India:

Under this agreement, India would receive access to U.S. nuclear technology in exchange for placing its civilian nuclear facilities under international monitoring. Under the agreement, India would allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog, to inspect those facilities designated as civilian.

Helps lift more than five hundred million people from poverty. – The Indo-US Civil nuclear deal has profound implications on the India’s economy as well. According to India’s Planning Commission, India is facing energy crisis, which can slow down its economic growth. Also, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mr. El-Baradei writes in the Washington Post on June 14, 2006, that "The nuclear deal gives India a 'safe and modern technology to help lift more than five hundred million people from poverty".
