Natural Mediumship Intensive with Dr. Lauren Thibodeau Set for Saturday, Oct. 7 in New York City

Author, Psychic Medium and Professor Lauren Thibodeau, Ph.D., NCC, MBA will lead a daylong Natural Mediumship Intensive in Manhattan on Saturday, Oct. 7. All levels of experience are welcomed. Participants limited to 40. Tuition is $149. Program runs from 10 am to 5 pm. Advance registration required. Call 1-877-DR-LAUREN.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 4, 2006 -- Psychic mediumship is all the rage these days, but according to Lauren Thibodeau, Ph.D. much of what's presented on television is completely off the mark.

An author and nationally certified counselor, Dr. Thibodeau is hosting a daylong Natural Mediumship Intensive in Manhattan on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop is open to all levels, but limited to just 40 participants, and advance registration is required.

"Mediumship is a natural ability based on intuition that all people possess to some degree. Research shows that high levels of psychic ability relate in part to brain structure. People like me who are ambidextrous are known to be better at it naturally, for example. But often on television, mediumship is portrayed as something spooky and strange, or the special province of a few gifted people. Neither is true," Thibodeau said.

Exercises in the Natural Mediumship Intensive workshop will be based on Thibodeau's book, Natural-Born Intuition: How to Awaken & Develop Your Inner Wisdom (2004, Career Press/New Page Books). Participants will be grouped by experience level.

"Very practical, down-to-earth people also have strong intuitive intelligence that can be accessed and developed. With some basic training, anyone can learn to access this tool that can help them gain insight and advantage in any area of life," Thibodeau, who holds an MBA and studied engineering, said.

"My workshops and classes are very experiential and interactive. I teach from a pragmatic, secular perspective. While mediumship has a spiritual component for many people, it's also a very practical skill that doesn't require a religious or spiritual basis or belief system to be effective," Thibodeau added, noting that mediumship in some form or other dates back to ancient times.

"Like any skill, good foundations are important. My one-day Natural Mediumship Intensive will not produce instant mediums. There are no instant artists or instant musicians or instant accountants. Mediumship is no different; it also requires discipline," Thibodeau said, noting that she teaches ongoing evening classes, which resume in September, to offer further development opportunities to those in the New York City metro area.

Dr. Thibodeau, who teaches in the transpersonal studies graduate program at Atlantic University, was recently featured in "Psychic Investigators" on Biography for her assistance to Pennsylvania Det. Robert Wanner, who, inspired by her intuitive insights, solved the 20-year-old cold case of a murdered "Jane Doe," Brooklynite Margie Calciano. She has also presented intuitive intelligence programs to groups including police detectives, corporate executives and healthcare professionals.

"There's no one who can't learn more about themselves through working with their natural intuition and mediumship. It's really not about the other side at all. It's about you learning to trust your perceptions using the feedback loop that mediumship can provide as a guiding tool," Thibodeau said.
