Powerhouse Literary Agent Donald Maass to Bring Secrets of Novel Writing to Nashville, TN August 12th & 13th

With only a few hundred first novelists published each year, competition among would-be novelists for available slots with reputable publishers is fierce. Editors working for large publishers no longer cultivate promising novelists with flawed manuscripts but instead rely on literary agents to discover and present top talent for them. One of Manhattan’s most experienced agents, Donald Maass, who sells more than one hundred novels a year to major publishers, will be in Nashville, TN on August 12th & 13th to offer the keys to creating a novel acquisition editors can’t resist.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) July 5, 2006 -- With only a few hundred first novelists published each year, competition among would-be novelists for available slots with reputable publishers is fierce.

The two-day workshop, “Writing the Breakout Novel,” features Donald Maass’s “agent’s-eye” view of such vital elements as character, plot and theme. He brings these concepts to life by involving seminar participants in exercises that enable writers to plumb the depths of their characters, deepen themes, strengthen point of view and voice, and more. “Writers love Maass’s smart, funny style and his nuts-and-bolts approach,” says Lorin Oberweger, whose company, Free Expressions, sponsors the Maass seminar and others nationwide.

Maass’s seminar is also popular among experienced mid-list authors hoping to rise to bestseller ranks. As successful author Karen Leabo says, “I’ve written and sold forty novels, but Don Maass helped crystallize concepts I’ve heard over and over. I feel confident I can put the advice into practical use and reach that next level in my career.”

The seminar cost is $259 (early registration) and includes refreshments, lunch, and an evening reception on Saturday, and refreshments on Sunday. The Nashville seminar will be held at the Doubletree Nashville Airport, 2424 Atrium Way, Nashville, TN.

Those interested in the August seminar should call 813-684-7988 or toll free: 866-I-WRITE-2 (866-497-4832) or visit the Free Expressions website at Free Expressions Seminars. Pre-registration is required.
