Get the Highest Internet Bandwidth at the Lowest Cost

Edimax is shipping its newest EnduraLINK ER-1088, which supports connecting up to 8 WAN lines together for increased bandwidth, fault-tolerance and load-balancing. VPN trunking for fail-over is also provided when multiple VPN tunnels are established to the same endpoint.

Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) July 5, 2006 -- Edimax Computer, a world leader in MultiWAN Broadband Router with the broadest multi-wan product lines in the networking industry, today announced the immediate availability of its newest EnduraLINK ER-1088, a 8-WAN port VPN Broadband Router.

Edimax’s EnduraLINK ER-1088 is a State-of-the-Arts router because it is the world’s first and only 8-WAN Multi-homing VPN Router. It has the highest number of WAN ports, and in addition, it is a fault-tolerant, load balancing VPN router with an enterprise-class firewall as well. It is the ideal solution for any organization such as a wireless ISPs, ISPs, non-profits, scientific institutes, schools, government institutes & agencies, and businesses. It makes perfect sense for all types of enterprises because it is the most cost effective fault-tolerant bandwidth solutions available.

The highest bandwidth is achieved by simultaneously connecting to 8 low-cost broadband links such as xDSL, cable, satellite, and etc. For example: at current time: (June 2006) the typical ADSL business service in North America is approximately $70 for a 6 Mbps download and 800 Kbps upload WAN line. So, with 8 ADSL lines that would cost less than $600 per a month you can have a combined download bandwidth of greater than a 45 Mbps DS3 line which cost more than $5000 per a month. Just purchasing a DS3 router is at least $4000. Because a DS3 boadband WAN line is so expensive, most enterprises use only a T1 line (1.5 Mbps), and the EnduraLINK ER-1088 is an ideal T1 substitute. There is no contest between the cost of a onetime purchase to acquire the ER-1088 with a low monthly fee versus a high monthly fee for the T1 or DS3 lines. After a few months, you will save hundreds of dollar on a monthly basis.

The best analogy for the multi-WAN is to compare it to a 16-lane super-highway. Imagine the traffics that a 16-lane superhighway can carry. Similarly, the total data packets traffic capacity of a 8-WAN data super-highway is correspondingly increased. (8 WAN lines bi-directionally is equivalent to a16 lanes)

"By using the EnduraLINK ER-1088, you get more and non-stop bandwidth for your LAN users, which in turn will increase their productivities ," said Danny Hwang, the General Manager of Edimax Computer. "We are pleased to provide a bandwidth solution with the best price-to-performance ratio, and we stand behind our claim of providing the highest bandwidth at the lowest cost!"
