When Sinus Buster hot pepper (Capsaicin) nasal spray was introduced to the OTC market in 2003, it was an instant hit with sufferers of severe chronic headaches and sinus conditions. Known as the world’s first Capsaicin nasal spray, Sinus Buster is now sold in nearly 2,000 stores throughout North America. Today, the makers of Sinus Buster have introduced a brand new "Mild" formula designed to fight less severe sinus and headache symptoms.

Basically Sinus Buster Mild is our answer to saline sprays, but it goes a step further. While it works for keeping nasal passages clear and soothed just like saline does, it also relieves minor sinus symptoms and basic sinus related headaches

When Sinus Buster hot pepper (Capsaicin) nasal spray was introduced to the OTC market in 2003, it was an instant hit with sufferers of chronic headaches and sinus conditions. Known as the world’s first Capsaicin nasal spray, Sinus Buster is now sold in 2,000 stores throughout North America, and more than 3,000 stores worldwide.

Earlier this year, SiCap Industries (makers of Sinus Buster) announced an entire line of Capsaicin nasal sprays covering a multitude of health conditions. Each of these exclusive “All Natural” formulas are registered with the FDA as official Homeopathic OTC (over-the-counter) medications designed to relieve a variety of chronic health issues including: Allergies; Sinus; Headaches; Colds; Weight Control; and even a Stop Smoking formula.

“These aren’t just the same formulas with different labels. Each of these formulas were carefully designed to combat specific health issues. For example, Capsaicin alone cannot adequately relieve and prevent seasonal allergy symptoms, but when you add natural Nettle extract to the mix it becomes the most effective allergy buster you’ll ever find. Each of our Sinus Buster formulas use specific herbal extracts that have been approved by the FDA to treat certain conditions under the rules of the National Drug Code. The only formula we didn’t have was a simple nasal rinse to promote daily sinus health, and that’s where the new Sinus Buster mild formula comes in. It's designed for everyday mild symptoms,” says Wayne Perry, president of SiCap Industries.

SiCap’s new “Mild” formula is based on their popular original classic Sinus Buster, but without the usual pepper bite. According to SiCap officials, this new formula is designed to be a daily sinus cleanser that combats mild symptoms such as low-level congestion and pressure.

“Basically Sinus Buster Mild is our answer to saline sprays, but it goes a step further. While it works for keeping nasal passages clear and soothed just like saline does, it also relieves minor sinus symptoms and basic sinus related headaches,” says Rob Sasso, Director of Operations for SiCap Industries.

While Sinus Buster Classic formula can blast away the worst headaches and congestion within seconds, the new milder version is best suited for “Mild” symptoms and prevention of severe symptoms.

“Low heat Capsaicin will clear basic congestion and stop dull low level headaches with only a few sprays, but when it comes to major head-busting headaches or significant sinus pressure such as with infections, you need a higher heat pepper extract to do the job. Basically the mild formula is designed to work hand in hand with the original classic formula. We recommend the average chronic sufferer should have both versions. They can use the mild formula for daily prevention and cleansing, and the classic formula when facing severe symptoms such as sinus infections or cluster headaches. It’s like using original Tylenol for minor aches, and using extra strength Tylenol for severe pain. The only side effects are that one formula is a little hotter than the other,” Perry explains.

Capsaicin, the active ingredient in hot peppers works basically the same as many medicines when it comes to dosage - The higher the dosage, the more effective it is. Based on this principal, Sinus Buster Mild is designed for the millions of people who suffer minor irritating bouts of sinus symptoms.

While many people welcome a milder version of Sinus Buster, many others plan to stick with the stronger original version. In one focus study with cluster headache patients (who also suffered from chronic sinus congestion), the stronger "Original" Sinus Buster formula was shown to be more effective against Cluster headache attacks. On the other hand, the "Mild" formula was found to be equally effective against chronic nasal congestion and headache prevention.

“I get alot of sinus infections and both formulas really help keep me clear, but when I get a nasty headache I need to really feel the burn. It also wakes me up mentally and I haven’t had a single headache since I started using it. I use to get terrible headaches related to my sinus infections, but Sinus Buster Classic was able to beat them every time. I mean instantly. I like their mild formula for everyday use, but when I have a full fledged Sinus Migraine, I need to feel the pepper," says Joseph Novil, a long time Sinus Buster customer who took part in the focus study.

“The average Sinus Sufferer should have both formulas because a person's symptoms aren’t always so severe. Sometimes you just need a little extra help to keep the nasal passages clear. Our mild formula is nice because you can use it for everyday nasal issues that don't require a high heat ratio. For instance, mild Sinus Buster is great for chronic congestion and snoring because they don't require a high heat ratio to be effective. And both formulas are safe to use as needed because they're completely natural and free of any added chemicals,” adds Perry.
