Unisys Appoints New Head of Public Sector for Asia Pacific

Unisys has appointed Tony Henshaw as its Managing Partner, Public Sector for Asia Pacific, based in Canberra, Australia.

Singapore (PRWEB) July 5, 2006 -- Unisys has appointed Tony Henshaw as its Managing Partner, Public Sector for Asia Pacific, based in Canberra, Australia.

Mr Henshaw joins Unisys with a wealth of public sector experience, particularly in senior leadership positions in the information technology and telecommunications sectors. He comes to Unisys from one of Australia’s leading telecommunications and information services companies, Telstra, where he was Managing Director, Government and State Sales.

“Tony Henshaw brings an impressive track record in this dynamic and unique part of the market and we are delighted to welcome him to our company,” said Andrew Barkla, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.

“He also joins at an exciting time in this traditionally strong area of our business. Across the diverse Asia Pacific region we are seeing common issues emerge as governments look to respond to the changing needs of communities in cost effective, comprehensive and leading edge ways. With our depth of experience across the Asia Pacific in security, outsourcing, identity management, infrastructure and integration, Unisys brings unique insight to clients responding to these complex issues,” he said.

Before joining Telstra, Mr Henshaw held a range of leadership positions with business and technology consulting firm EDS, including industry sales leadership, market relationships and planning. From 1995, he established the EDS public sector and energy business unit in Australia – building it to a substantial operation over 5 years. In 2000 he established the EDS E.solutions line of business in the Asia Pacific, in one year going from startup to a business with significant turnover. He also brings considerable experience as an appointee to various government appointed boards and committees, particularly those seeking to promote improved national research and development outcomes. His early career includes management, systems analysis and design at a range of mid-tier information technology (IT) companies and government agencies.

Mr Henshaw will be based in Canberra, Australia, where Unisys is servicing clients such as Defence, Customs and the Australian National Audit Office. This approach reflects the key focus by Unisys on challenges emerging at Federal government level – such as security of people, shipping, cargo management and identity – many of which extend across borders and are some of the most complex challenges of the decade.
